From the capital of the Spanish viceroys we fly to Cusco, once the capital of the Inca empire and today one of the world's most beautiful cities; the result of the imposition of a 16th century European culture upon the bronze age society of the Incas, with ancient megalithic walls supporting Spanish mansions and churches. Beyond the city the fertile Sacred Valley is studded with fascinating Inca remains and colourful local markets and is the gateway to the enigmatic ruins of Machu Picchu. From Cusco we travel to the sacred shores of Lake Titicaca, the centre of the Inca creation legend, visiting the fascinating islands of Uros and Taquile and the sombre burial towers of Sillustani burial .

| Machu Picchu. Early in the morning transfer to the train station where your 3 hour journey to the famous sanctuary starts. | Cusco - Puno. After breakfast transfer to the local train station where the Vistadome is waiting for you for your trip to Puno. This spectacular rail journey begins in historic Cuzco and travels south to the beautiful city of Puno, on the shores of Lake Titicaca. On the journey, the train makes a gentle climb to higher, and cooler, altitudes. The first half of the journey is dominated by the magnificent Andean mountains which towers over the deep valleys of the meandering Huatanay River. It then reaches the gentler, rolling Andean Plains, where vicuna and alpaca can be seen. The glass-walled observation coach provides the perfect opportunity to view the beautiful scenery. During your journey, a three-course lunch will be served. The journey is broken by a scenic stop at La Raya, which is also the highest point on the route. | ![]() |
| Visit of the Islands Uros and Taquile Today we'll leave for a boat tour on one of the highest lakes in the world (3800 meters / 9000 feet). Visit of the floating islands Uros and their typical dressed inhabitants. We continue the tour for the island of Taquile where the local people are experts in traditional weaving techniques. Private transport to Juliaca airport. On our way to Juliaca we'll visit the archeological site Silustani, famous for it's burial towers. In Juliaca we take the flight to Lima. Arrival in the afternoon in Lima. Evening connection of your international flight.
