During the 1st to the 15th Century AD the most illustrious heritages of Moche, Lambayeque, Chimu and Chachapoyas made significant achievements and developments in their times some of which included fortresses, tombs and temples which enchant some of the major cities of the north. Travel to the center and discover the heart of the Inca empire, Cusco. Megalithic Inca walls form the foundations of the mansions and baroque churches of the colonial period, and the hills beyond the city and the Sacred Valley are studded with the archeological sites of ancient temples and palaces. From Cusco we travel Machu Picchu, the lost Inca Citadel.

The Larco Museum
The Larco Museum showcases remarkable chronological galleries providing an excellent overview on 3000 years of development of Peruvian pre-Columbian history. It features the finest gold and silver collection from Ancient Peru and the famous erotic archaeological collection, one of the most visited Peruvian tourist attractions.
National museum of Archaeology, Anthropology and History
This is Peru’s grandest museum and houses the Estela Raymondi and the Tello Obelisk monuments, two important carved stone pieces dating back to the Formative period 1000 years B.C. It features the largest textile collection, with fabrics from the Pre-Ceramic period through the Inca Empire, and a major collection of Ancient Peruvian metals.
A full day excursion to Caral. Caral is one of the most ancient cities in America dating as far back as 2600BC. It is located 190 km (120 miles) north of Lima in a lush valley. It's stone pyramids, plazas and residential buildings spreads out over 150 acres of desert. Caral was a thriving metropolis at roughly the same time that Egypt's great pyramids were being built. Morning transfer to the airport for your Flight Lima/Trujillo. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. Once checked in your off for your day excursion: City tour of Trujillo: Casa Urquiaga, Palacio Iturriagui, Casa de la Emancipacion and La Merced Church. Visit the grand central plaza and wander the streets lined with colonial mansions. From there the excursion takes you to impressive royal palace of Chan Chan, built by the Chimu culture in pre inca period. You will have lunch in the attractive town of Huanchaco. Lodging Trujjilo. In the morning, we'll head south of town to visit the temple of the Sun and Moon built by the Moche Culture in around 500 AD. These 130-foot-tall pyramids are thought to be the largest adobe structures in the Americas. We'll travel by private car or bus to Chiclayo where we have lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch you visit Sipan, where the tomb of the Lord of Sipan was discovered. The Lord ruled around 200 AD over the Moche culture, and his gold-laden tomb is considered to be the richest in the Americas. Lodging Chiclayo. Breakfast an lunch included.
In the morning we will travel to the town of Lambayeque to visit the Royal Tombs of Sipan Museum where many of these riches are displayed (All artefacts were transferred from their previous home, the Bruning Museum to the new Royal Tombs of Sipan Museum). After lunch, we will visit the 26 pre-Columbian pyramids of Tucume. These pyramids were excavated by Thor Heyerdahl (of Kon-tiki fame), who discovered 102 burial sites, textiles, Incan figurines and depictions of reed boats. This, together with goods from far-flung corners of the South America, allowed Heyerdahl to prove that the ancient people of Tucume were experienced voyagers and traders. Lodging Chiclayo. In the morning you will depart from Chiclayo by private car, van or minibus. Here you will cross 4 different Peruvian departments: Lambayeque, South Piura, the North of Cajamarca and end in the Amazonas, starting in the coast and arriving in the late afternoon in the cloud-forest of Chachapoyas. After breakfast you will enjoy an excursion by horse to visit the colorful funeral buildings of Revash perched on a ledge up high on a cliff. They overlook a valley and tributary of the Utcubamba, near the town of Santo Tomas. The Cliff walls at Revash are decorated with geometric designs and figures of camelids. Some of the tombs are decorated with T and a cross-shaped niches. After lunch, you will continue to town of Leymebamba to visit an amazing collection of well-preserved pre-inca mummies discovered in the Laguna de los Condores. Lodging in Tingo. After breakfast you will visit Kuelap, a spectacular pre-Inca walled city hidden atop of a precipitous mountain. Although Kuelap was discovered 60 years before Machu Picchu, it is not as well known to the outside world. Nevertheless recent amazing discoveries in nearby areas that relate to Kuelap and to its history have captured the attention of archaeologists, international magazines and film companies. After an early breakfast you will return to Chiclayo by road. Late afternoon arrival and transfer to selected hotel. Lodging Chiclayo. Breakfast and Boxed lunch included.
Transfer to the airport in Chiclayo for your flight Chiclayo/Lima/Cusco. On arrival in Cusco you will be transferred to your hotel. Free time to acclimatize. Lodging in Cusco. Breakfast included.
Morning free. This is a good moment to buy souvenirs since Cusco offers the best in fine Alpaca wool, silver jewelry, and other fine handicrafts. Afternoon a private alternative City tour including two nearby archeological sites. We visit Qoricancha then a short stroll enjoying the atmosphere of Cusco visiting the Cathedral in the main square. Continuing on to see the famous 12 angled stone; from there your car will transfer you to the archeological site of Sacsayhuaman and then Qenko. Finishing back at your hotel. Lodging Cusco. Day excursion to the Sacred Valley in private service. We visit the colorful indigenous market of Pisac and the archeological site of Pisac. A buffet lunch is served in Urubamba. Morning transfer to Cusco airport for your flight to Lima. Arrival in Lima. Leave luggage in airport storage. Transfer to city center for your guided Lima city tour.
